Storheim’s was known as “Home of the Jumbo Burger and Gourmet Custard”, with fresh meat and a high butter content custard mix, making our custard so creamy. After many years, we started to expand into a larger menu.
It started with Homemade Pizza, which took years to prefect; starting with homemade crust, working on our own sausage – using Pork Loins to remove the fat for a leaner cut and searching for the best cheese. Knowing we were known for burgers and custard and being in an area with many pizza places, I felt like we would never get a fair shake without bringing in its own name and that’s where Pizza Pete originated from.
A few years later, we started a Homemade Swedish Breakfast. With a full menu, including homemade Swedish meatballs, Swedish pancakes and lingonberries plus your American favorites. All of our breads are made at our Restaurant, consisting of Swedish Rye, Cardamom, Saffron, Cinnamon Raisin, Wheat and White. We also make homemade Cinnamon rolls every morning “with frosting to die for”.
Now, by this time, something had to change internally. People were confused, is it a custard stand or a restaurant? Do they wait on us at our table or do we go to the counter and order? We knew we needed to change, yet change is always hard, especially when things are going pretty well! Then, a few years ago, we heard of competition coming in across the street. They would be selling many desserts and burgers. We decided to remodel and reopen in 1 week as Storheim’s Family Restaurant.
We offer full waitressing and have expanded our kitchen crew. Every day, we are making homemade Soups, Porketta, Swedish meatballs, Chicken pot pies, homemade Breads, Jumbo Cinnamon rolls, Pies and the list goes on and on.
It was, by far, the best move we made, and business has been great because of you! We thank the locals for sticking with us thru the many changes!
